Kitsap Humane Society (KHS) is a highly progressive open-admission animal welfare organization with a lives-saved rate of over 95%. KHS is located in Silverdale, Washington, just one hour from Seattle and close to the beautiful Olympic Mountains. We seek to hire a full-time Clinic Manager to join us in our mission and vision to provide high quality care in a progressive animal welfare environment. Each year KHS takes in over 7,000 homeless animals including roughly 2,000 animals from at-risk partner shelters across the region. Our veterinary team performs over 2,000 spay/neuter surgeries for our low income community each year. KHS is deeply dedicated to being a progressive animal welfare leader as highlighted by our many lifesaving programs including Community Cats, Foster Care, Rescue Me, Last Litter, Pawsitive Prison Partnership Program and more.
KHS's Clinic Manager will work in close partnership with the Director of Shelter Medicine (DSM), veterinarians, staff and volunteers to provide high quality shelter medicine, surgery, treatment and care for KHS shelter animals. Our lifesaving programs have seen positive growth over the past three years, and we are excited for the opportunity to recruit a highly motivated Clinic Manager to work alongside us in providing excellent medical and surgical care for the animals and community we serve.
The Clinic Manager will be responsible for managing the Veterinary Services department to meet objectives for budget, strategic plan and quality medical care. He/she supervises the veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and department volunteers. He/she takes strong initiative in collaborating within a multi-department team environment, working closely with all medical staff to maximize the efficiency of population flow within the shelter and to provide veterinary services to external and internal customers. He/she will provide exceptional leadership in supporting the mission, goals, and philosophy of Kitsap Humane Society. The primary function of the position will be performing administration, coordination, and oversight for the department alongside the DSM; however, the Clinic Manager will be ready to step in and perform hands-on primary care duties across the department as needed, in order to meet goals and maintain a high level of productivity, especially during periods of peak workload.
The Clinic Manager must have at least 2 years leadership experience in either the veterinary or animal welfare fields. Washington State veterinary technician license (LVT) preferred. For out of state candidates, we are pleased to offer a relocation package.
