Critter Care Veterinary Services, located in the far southwest Chicago metropolitan area, is searching for a Medical Director to partner with leadership to accomplish our goal of nurturing the human-animal bond.

The Managing DVMis responsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine is delivered. In partnership with the Hospital Manager, the Managing DVM is responsible for the financial performance of the hospital, preparing operating and capital budgets, and meeting budget expectations. The Hospital Manager and the Managing DVM will partner to take on the responsibilities of directing staff and managing the practice under the direction of NVA Divisional Leadership.

Skills and Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed.
4+ years of experience working as a licensed veterinarian
Previous experience in a lead/supervisory role - preferred
Special interest in advanced surgery, holistic medicine, and/or orthopedics - preferred
Some equine or exotics experience - preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills through charting and in appointments with clients.
Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
Ability to motivate staff, delegate responsibility, and achieve results with hospital team members.
Capable of quality decision making.
Ability to coach, correct, develop, and motivate Associate DVM’s.
Demonstrates excellent time and task management.
Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to- date w/assistance from Technicians.
Stays current on new medical information and changes to veterinary medicine
