Responsibilities: This role can be demanding, but our Associate Veterinarian must be highly qualified, an excellent communicator, the ability to multitask with strong problem-solving skills, and truly passionate about the pets in their care!
- Document all actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and patient records. - Answer client questions and provide education on various aspects of animal care and treatment. - Educate the public about diseases that can be spread from animals to humans. - Call back/follow-up with clients; recommend medical progress visits when appropriate.
A list of requirements essential to this role include: - Hold a valid DVM license that is in good standing for South Carolina. - Part or full-time hours, with weekends, holidays, and evening shifts. - Flexibility to accommodate changes to work shifts, such as staying late or working through breaks to assist pets in need.

Medical Duties - Broad knowledge and skills are needed to treat sick and injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery. - A multitasker who can easily switch hats and apply their skills where needed with ease. - Thorough preventative medical care for all patients. - Possess strong surgical expertise and surgical dental procedures. - Perform laboratory procedures and diagnostic tests, including parasitology, hematology, and urinalysis. - Possess the ability to operate diagnostic equipment, i.e., radiographic and ultrasound equipment with comprehensive knowledge to interpret the resulting images. - Administer anesthetics, perform surgery, and monitor patients during surgery and recovery with the technical team's assistance. - Humanely euthanize animals when it has been mutually agreed upon by the patient’s owner.
