When a beloved family member is at the end of their life, we want them to be comfortable and at home. The End-of-Life Veterinarian at
Restful Paws serves our clients who want to be near their pets in their last days and hours.
Summary:
The End-of-Life Veterinarian provides in-home end of life and euthanasia services to our patients across the Bay Area. Your home base will be one of our SAGE hospitals, but you'll serve patients who are not necessarily patients at SAGE. Doctors in this role will be mostly mobile: delivering in-home euthanasia services and providing Quality of Life consultations. The nature of the work requires doctors to bring a high level of compassion to their work and to be comfortable working independently. Doctors must have exceptional client communication skills and a high level of organization and follow through. If you have 2-5 years of experience in general practice or emergency care and a working knowledge of end-of-life care, we want to meet you!
Locations:
This role is primarily a mobile practice, with travel throughout the Bay Area to delivery in-home euthanasia services. We are currently seeking veterinarians to serve the East Bay, South Bay and Peninsula.
About Restful Paws and SAGE:
Restful Paws is part of the SAGE network of hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are proud of the collaboration that happens between Restful Paws and our hospitals – our specialists work together to enable optimal patient outcomes and foster professional growth and learning. Our end-of-life service is a vital part of the care SAGE provides.
Some of our values in action:
- Collaboration: With multiple specialties supporting Emergency and Critical Care, you’ll have the opportunity to share knowledge with a brilliant and diverse community of doctors.
- Sustainability: As our industry changes, smaller, doctor-led community practices are becoming rarer. We are constantly enhancing our model and growth strategy to ensure that the SAGE way thrives and spreads, keeping our core values and methods intact.
- Compassion: Our work is about caring for living creatures, no matter how many legs they use. We place compassion first for our patients and their people.
- Innovation: Top technology and top skills - we are about pushing the envelope to serve our community.
Schedule Options:
Full-time or part time.
Compensation and perks:
- Get paid to learn! We offer a CE stipend for continuing education and coursework as you continue your journey.
- Relocation assistance is always an option. Live and work in beautiful, temperate San Francisco Bay!
Our doctors and outstanding support staff have created a unique environment emphasizing high caliber, compassionate and ethical service to our patients, clients, and referring veterinarians, as well as a continued commitment to the growth and welfare of everyone involved in our organization.
Additional Job Requirements:
• Possess a valid driver's license and a well-maintained SUV/hatchback/minivan
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. assisted
• Capable of walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, stooping, standing, and reaching consistently during the workday
• Comfortable with prolonged periods of driving
