Single DVM practice looking for a part-time or Full-time licensed DVM/VMD for a growing practice in a very desirable suburb of Charlotte, NC. We are a family-oriented practice that strongly believes in offering quality care to our clients and patients, but also strongly believe in work-life balance. Business hours are Monday through Friday 730am until 530pm - doctors 8am until 530pm. We are open two Saturdays a month 8am until 12pm. We are closed other Saturdays, all Sundays, and major federal holidays - Jan 1, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
We offer in-house IDEXX diagnostics - cbc, chemistry, UA analyzer. We offer in-house snap tests through IDEXX including cPL, Parvo, Giardia, Bile Acids, etc. We send the majority of our bloodwork to the lab (IDEXX) for all healthy annual, pre-op, monitoring labs. We offer digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, high speed im3 dental machine, GE ultrasound, full surgery capabilities. We require bloodwork before any surgery - we require pets to come in prior to their surgery date for blood draws so blood work is ready the day of surgery. We offer a range of soft tissue surgeries and some orthopedic procedures. All pets are required to have an IV catheter and fluids during surgery. All pets are monitored with a brand new Cardel/Mid-Mark anesthesia monitor - EtCO2, SPO2, blood pressure, temperature, ECG, etc are all monitored for all anesthetic procedures.
We follow AAHA vaccine protocols and believe in starting wellness bloodwork when a pet turns 1 year of age. We strongly recommend and promote year round internal and external parasite control. We have a very compliant client base who follow our recommendations and want to do what is best for their pets. We have a large geriatric pet population as our clients do annual bloodwork, heed our advise for treating before things are advanced.
We currently employ several RVT's. The RVT's pull all blood from pets, place all IV caths, calculate all fluid rates, medication/pre-medication rates, and treat all pets as directed by the DVM. This allows our DVM's to see more pets, have more time with the clients forming relationships with them and getting to know the pets. Our lead RVT is trained in ultrasound and preforms all of our ultrasounds so the DVM just has to review the images. The RVT's also see their own appointments to open up more time for DVM's to see other pets. They see vaccine only rooms, follow up bloodwork, nail trims, anal gland expressions, etc. The RVT's also perform all anesthetic pre-medications, inductions, intubations, prepping surgical pets, and dental cleanings allowing the DVM to do other things while they perform duties allowed by a RVT.
The right candidate will be one that gets along well with our team, is a team player, and shares the same vision medically as the owner.
Must have a current DVM license in the state of North Carolina
Would prefer 1-2 years experience as an associate DVM
Would prefer a DVM who can perform surgery and dental cleanings/extractions
